Knitting update

Back of cardigan completed in The Dove on Saturday afternoon. No, really, I do have people to knit with usually *sob*
1st sleeve done, 2nd sleeve progressing nicely.

Photography is not allowed

I seem to have one of those faces that suggests to authority figures that I'm going to be problematic.

I went to the Crafts Council on Friday, to see the newly-opened K2together exhibition , and had a security guard follow me around for most of my visit.

Perhaps she could see that I was wondering how I could smuggle out exhibits under my coat *joke*

I got asked why I was making notes on my Palm, and told not to take photos. The photo thing wouldn't have annoyed me so much, but there were loads of people using camera phones. Grrrrr

Anyway, the exhibition is 95% fantastic, and I don't think I can pick anyone's work out as being my favourite, although Kelly Jenkin's chat line ads and magazine problem page made me laugh for a good while.

ARGH

It's a baby cardigan.

Cast on 58, knit row, 2 purl rows, 2 knit rows, 2 purl rows, knit row.
Easy, right?

4 TIMES I managed to mess it up this morning. I blame the fact that I'm feeling run down ;-)

On the plus side, it was good to see the knitting posse, and Pauline sorted out my issues with cable cast-on.

Current projects:
  • baby jacket and hat in Jaegar merino
  • orange skull intarsia jumper for Grace
  • black speckled wool jumper for Ian

I also need to start my Mother's Day gift, which is a ribbed jumper on Paton's Cargo. Luckily, my Mam is very understanding and has said I can placate her with some flowers until it's done.

And so it begins

Me? Bow to peer pressure? Never! So, my knitting livejounral is well and truly abandoned in favour of this shiny and new blog.

Knitflicks today was a definite success, despite the venue's continuing reluctance to acknowledge that it's not a good idea to piss off the women with needles.

The film was nothing special, but the company was good, and it snowed. I got to teach a guy in the cafe to knit, which was bizarre, but that'll teach him to ask questions :)
